Free Childbirth Education Classes
Offered by Herkimer County Public Health
Childbirth Education
Classes Starting on August 2nd, 2010 at 4:30 PM
If
you are currently pregnant or expect to be soon, Herkimer County Public Health
invites you to participate in a 4 week Childbirth Education Classes program
designed to help you understand all that happens between conception and
birth. The classes are completely free. 2 hour classes are held weekly, on Monday
afternoons, for four consecutive weeks.
Each class provides structured, practical guidance that you need in
order to avoid being overwhelmed by confusing advice from many sources. The classes will cover: week-by-week descriptions of how a child develops
in the womb; tips, choices and facts about labor positions; and delivery
options. It will include recognizing and
dealing with post-partum depression, guidance on how to care for your infant at
home, and more! One class features a
lactation counselor who will speak on successfully breastfeeding your new
baby.
This
is the only comprehensive class of this type in Herkimer County. For more information and scheduling, please
contact Herkimer County Public Health’s Christina Schilling, RN, at 315-867-1176.
