Herkimer County Road Closure Update

November 7, 2019

Maintenance and contractor crews continue to clean up damaged roadways following the early November flooding in Herkimer County.

For your safety, consider the following road closures when traveling in Herkimer County. These road closures are still in effect as of November 7, 2019:


  • Farrington Road Bridge


  • Wilson Road (Town of Frankfort)
  • Hilltop Bridge (Village of Frankfort)


  • Osborne Hill Road


  • Saltsman Road


  • Stanley Road
  • Gage Road at Military Road
  • Sulphur Springs Road


  • Gray-Wilmurt Road in Hamlet of Gray – bridge closed until further notice
  • Gray-Wilmurt Road near NY Route 8 – expected to reopen Thursday evening
  • Jones Road / Atwood Lake Road culvert at Four Mile Brook
  • Unclemier Road


  • Dairy Hill Road between Military Road and Tucker Road
  • Bingham Mills Road – Shaver Road detour on upper portion
  • Hopson Road near NY Route 29 – bridge damage, closed until further notice


  • Bull Road
  • Bush Road between Shortlots Road and Mowers Road – one lane open
